Student Permit Info
You must park in your assigned location(
properly displaying your valid permit
) from 7am-5pm weekdays.
You
cannot
park in any off campus Housing lots at anytime, unless you have a specific permit for that off-campus location. See
Definitions
.
Parking area FULL.
If you find that the area you are in is full, please return to the nearest gate entrance and our Customer Service Representative will assist you. If you are directed to another location, you will be issued a secondary permit to display on your dash that will prevent your vehicle from being cited.
You are allowed to park in any lot or structure(that is accessible) on campus from 5pm-7am weekdays and all day weekends and holidays. Lot P is accessible after 730pm weekdays.
You
cannot
park in any spaces or areas that are posted with restrictions(i.e.
Reserved, Carpool
, Meters, Disabled,
Yellow zones
etc) at anytime unless your permit is assigned to that location/space.
Compact Only / No SUV parking
. Please ensure when parking in a USC parking structure, all spaces marked Compact Only or No SUV, requires that your vehicle size meets that guideline. If your vehicle's width takes up the entire space and/or protrudes over the lines of that space or prevents cars on either side of getting in or out of their vehicle or space, we ask you to relocate to a larger space that is not restricted and wider in size. Parking in these restricted spaces with a vehicle deemed too large as outlined above can result in a citation for Incorrect Parking area.
Your permit is
not transferable.
You cannot remove the permit and place it on another car temporarily or otherwise. If your vehicle becomes temporarily inoperable, placed in the shop for repairs or reported stolen, you will need to request a
Temporary Permit
from our office. If for any reason our offices are closed due to any University-recognized holidays or during the weekends, we ask that you stop at one of the available gate entrances to obtain a pass for those day(s) (until you are able to request and pick up a
Temporary Permit
from our office); this will help avoid unnecessary citation. NOTE: Any day passes obtained may be refunded with proof of your vehicle being put into a shop during the days our officers were unavailable.
During
Special Events
that may occur at night or on weekends, parking is provided on a first-come first-serve basis. You are not guaranteed a space in the lot you are assigned to during the weekdays. You will be allowed to park where space is available.
All permits are the property of USC. All parking permits
must be purchased from Transportation Services
. Permits
may not
be exchanged from customer to another and may not be resold. Parking is assumed at owner’s risk.
If you sell your vehicle
or you no longer need your parking permit, return your parking permit to qualify for an even exchange or a prorated refund. Failure to comply may result in a $100 lost permit fee. Please present documentation to release ownership liability at Transportation Services.
No one is allowed to stay overnight inside their vehicle, parked in USC's parking Structures or lots. Living in or storing a vehicle, trailer, mobile home or motor home on any USC parking lot or street, or in any USC parking structure, is strictly prohibited
Evening Permits
are valid at any non-reserved lot to include PSA, PSB, PSD, PSX and our open surface lots, i.e. Lot 6, Lot V, etc.,
ONLY from 5pm to 7am,
7 days a week, including Holidays
. Evening Permit rates subject to change in early 2006.
Car in the shop
. If your vehicle that has a valid USC parking permit attached to it is placed in the shop for repairs and/or you have to drive another vehicle, or have an emergency need, a Temporary Permit (2 weeks max) may be obtained free-of-charge for current permit holders. This also applies to situations where permits are reported stolen. Documented proof of any of the above must be submitted upon request before the permit will be issued.
Disabled Parking.
While on USC campus, all faculty/staff members or students at USC (in order to park on a meter without feeding the meter) must have a valid USC parking pass or permit displayed IN ADDITION TO their valid Disabled Placard. In addition, you may park in any disabled space with a valid disabled placard and USC parking pass or permit displayed. However, if there are no disabled spaces available in a given lot or structure you must return to another lot/structure or meter. Parking in a non-disabled space without the correct permit for that lot or structure will result in citation.
