NON-DESIGNATED PARKING AREA

All vehicles are required to park within properly marked designated parking spaces. Vehicles parked in areas other than those designated for parking will be in violation and may be subject to citation.

BLOCKING DRIVEWAY

No vehicle shall block any driveway within the property at any time. Blocking or preventing entry or exiting of vehicles into any area is a violation.

PARKED IN/ON SIDEWALK

No person shall park a vehicle in or on a sidewalk at anytime. A vehicle left (attended or unattended) that causes pedestrian thoroughfare to go around the vehicle is in violation. This type of violation creates a safety hazard.

DOUBLE PARKED

No vehicle may park in any way that inhibits the ability of an adjacent vehicle to access their own space. Vehicles parked in this manner may be subject to citation.

PARKED THE WRONG WAY

No vehicle shall park on the side of the street facing oncoming traffic at anytime. Vehicles parked in this manner will be in violation.

INCORRECT PARKING AREA

No vehicle shall park in an area for which their issued permit is not valid. For additional information about where and when specific permits are valid, please Consult the "Where Can I Park?" document located online here.

NO VALID PERMIT DISPLAYED

All vehicles are required to have a valid USC PARKING PERMIT/ DAILY PASS AT ALL TIMES. All USC parking permits and daily passes must be displayed in accordance with our Rules and Regulations at all times when the vehicle is parked within the property. Failure to display a valid USC parking permit/daily pass properly, EVEN IF THE PERMIT OR PASS IS VALID, creates this violation.

IMPROPER PERMIT DISPLAY

All USC parking permits/daily passes shall be displayed in one of two ways: Window Sticker permits/daily passes must be displayed right-side up, on the lower left-hand (driver's side) corner of the windshield. Permits must be affixed to the windshield solely by the adhesive on the permit; no tape or any additional adhesive is allowed. No plastic can be attached to this window sticker. Daily Passes must be placed on the lower left-hand corner of the windshield with the daily pass information clearly visible. Failure to display a USC permit/daily pass properly as required will be in violation.

PERMIT NOT REGISTERED TO VEHICLE

All vehicles displaying a USC parking permit MUST be listed in the owner's account with USC Transportation. This includes any secondary vehicle. Any vehicle parked on the property displaying a valid USC permit, but is not registered with our office is in violation and may be cited.

RESERVED PARKING

No student, faculty, staff, guest or vendors shall park in any reserved/assigned spaces at any time unless you are the owner of that space and have the required permit properly displayed. Those vehicles parked in such spaces without displaying the proper permit will be in violation and subject to citation, immobilization and/or tow. Residents are required to park only in those spaces/areas assigned to their residence. Vehicles parked in a reserved parking space other than assigned by the Property Manager will be in violation.

RESTRICTED PARKING

No vehicle shall park in any area/space designated as Restricted. Restricted areas have required signage that dictates what type of valid USC permits/daily passes are allowed. Please read signage at the entrance to all lots and open areas on the property prior to parking. Failure to read the posted signs or adhere to its listed restrictions will be in violation of the parking rules/regulations.

PAY-BY-PLATE AREA or TEXT2PARK VIOLATION

ALL USC Pay-by-Plate areas and Text2Park zones are enforced 24 hours a day. USC permits or daily passes are NOT allowed to park in designated Pay-by-Plate areas. Failure to pay for time spent in Pay-by-Plate or Text2Park areas is in violation of our parking rules/regulations.

PAY-BY-PLATE AREA or TEXT2PARK VIOLATION - EVENT EXCEPTION

Same rules/regulations as the entry above this one, but an increased fine is levied during USC home football games and other campus-wide special events (athletic events, concerts, festivals, etc.)

TIME ZONE VIOLATION

No vehicle shall park in a designated space/area beyond the posted time zone restrictions. Those vehicles exceeding the time restrictions will be in violation.

LOADING/UNLOADING YELLOW ZONE VIOLATION

Vehicles parked for the purpose of loading/unloading of persons and/or materials must use designated yellow zones only. Any other area used for this purpose is in violation. Vehicles using this Yellow Zone must display a special permit/pass that can only be issued from a Campus Gate Attendant or USC Transportation office. Any vehicle parked not displaying this special pass is in violation. Vehicles using this Yellow Zone displaying the required pass are parked in a time limit zone. Please adhere to the posted time limit. Any vehicle staying longer than the posted allowed time is in violation.

POSTED NO PARKING/RED ZONE

RED ZONE
No vehicle may park in any area where a curb is painted RED for any period of time. Vehicles parked in these zones will be in violation.
NO PARKING ZONE
No vehicle may park in any area identified and/or posted as a NO PARKING ZONE for any period of time. Vehicles parked in these zones will be in violation.

FIRE LANE

No vehicle may park in any area identified and/or posted as a FIRE LANE for any period of time. Vehicles parked in these areas will be in violation and are subject to citation and/or tow.

PARKING WITHIN 15FT OF FIRE HYDRANT

No vehicle shall park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant on either side. Curbs or sidewalks do not have to be colored where a fire hydrant is located. Vehicles parked in these areas will be in violation and are subject to citation and/or tow.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS-SIDEWALK/RAMP

No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a peace officer or official traffic control device, in front of that portion of a curb that has been cut down, lowered, or constructed to provide wheelchair accessibility to the sidewalk and that is designated for wheelchair access by either a sign or red paint on the curb.

DISABLED PARKING/NO PLACARD DISPLAYED

No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, in a stall or space designated for disabled persons and disabled veterans, unless the vehicle displays either a special identification license plate or a distinguishing placard issued by a state DMV office (in addition to a USC parking permit or daily pass).

OBSTRUCT/BLOCK DISABLED BLUE ZONE

No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, in a manner that would obstruct, block, or otherwise bar access to those parking areas or spaces indicated as being reserved for use by handicapped individuals.

DISABLED (CROSSHATCH) LOAD/UNLOAD

No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, including a vehicle displaying a special identification license plate or a distinguishing placard issued by a state DMV office, in either of the following places:
- On the lines marking the boundaries of a parking stall or space designated for disabled persons or disabled veterans.
- In any area of the pavement adjacent to a parking stall or space designated for disabled persons or disabled veterans that is marked by crosshatched lines and is thereby designated for the loading and unloading of vehicles parked in the adjacent stall or space.

IMMOBILIZATION

Vehicles may be immobilized for having outstanding administrative fees from various violation(s) previously issued, if the vehicle is displaying a permit previously reported lost, missing or stolen, or is displaying a permit that has been forged or altered. All related or outstanding fees (plus a Boot release fee) must be paid before a Boot can be released.

IMMOBILIZATION DEVICE DAMAGE

Damaging/removing the impound parking device plus any replacement cost associated for its repair or replacement deemed by USC Transportation.

ALTERED PERMIT OR PASS

Any vehicle displaying a USC parking permit or pass that has been altered IN ANY WAY is subject to immobilization and all related fees, which may include corresponding "usage" fees (e.g., if a semesterly permit is altered, the violator will also be charged for a semesterly permit, in addition to all other fees).

FORGED PERMIT OR PASS

Any vehicle displaying a USC parking permit or pass that is a forgery (i.e., via photocopy, photograph, computer editing software, etc.) is subject to immobilization and related fees which may include "usage" fees (e.g., if a semesterly permit is forged, the violator will also be charged for a semesterly permit, in addition to all other fees).

RESTRICTED PARKING - UNIVERSITY VILLAGE GARAGE

No vehicle may park in the University Village garage without paying an hourly rate for (or having validated completely or in part) the right to do so.

ZIPCAR RESERVED SPACE

No student, faculty, staff, guest or vendors shall park in any marked Zipcar Car Sharing reserved/assigned spaces at any time unless you are the renter/driver of the Zipcar vehicle assigned to that space. Those vehicles parked in such spaces will be in violation and subject to citation, immobilization and/or tow.
