Please review this How To Activate your Metro U-Pass Tutorial<\/a> (7:31 long) for a video walk-through of the process described below. The Summer 2026 program runs from May 18 to August 23.<\/h3>\n

The Summer 2026 U-Pass program application process is now fully automated, and it starts online by completing this U-Pass form<\/a>. Once this form is completed, students will receive a system-generated email confirming their information was received, and directing them to the next steps to complete the process.<\/h3>\n

These next steps include: clicking on the Metro link in the email you receive to visit their activation website, entering your card number and the activation code (SCSU26), checking the acknowledgement box on Metro’s form, and clicking the “Submit” button.<\/p>\n

IMPORTANT NOTE<\/span>: As mentioned in the confirmation email, the final step is that you MUST TAP YOUR ACTIVATED CARD AT ANY METRO STATION WITHIN 14 DAYS TO LOCK IN THE ACTIVATION FOR SUMMER. Almost all<\/span> issues related to the U-Pass program are due to students not tapping their card in a timely manner.<\/h3>\n

GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION<\/h4>\n

USC Transportation partners with LA Metro to offer the U-Pass program every semester \u2014 it is available to\u00a0ALL<\/strong>\u00a0current USC students (both Graduate students and Undergraduates), and is available at no additional cost (the cost of the program is included in the Transportation Fee being charged to all registered students at USC).<\/p>\n

The U-Pass allows USC students unlimited rides on LA Metro\u2019s rail and bus lines for any given semester. You\u00a0DO<\/strong>\u00a0have to re-register every semester in which you want one, but you\u00a0DO NOT<\/strong>\u00a0need a new card every time \u2013 if you\u00a0already have<\/strong> a U-Pass issued by our office from a previous semester, you should choose the \u201cRENEWAL\u201d option during the purchasing process. If you have lost your card<\/strong>, you need to get a new one from our office in the McCarthy Structure at UPC during normal business hours (M-F, 8:30-3:00), and then return to this site to activate it.<\/p>\n

Once you submit your U-Pass application, you will immediately receive an automated email confirming the next steps you need to follow to activate your pass for Summer 2026.<\/h4>\n

WHERE CAN I USE THE U-PASS?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The U-Pass is valid on the following transit agencies:<\/p>\n
