Spring 2026 invitations will be sent out on January 9.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re a USC student enrolled in summer, or a faculty or staff member, and you haven&#8217;t received an invitation or can&#8217;t activate your pass, please fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/transnet.usc.edu\/index.php\/lyft-invite\/\">this Lyft Invite form<\/a>.<\/h4>\n<h4>Feedback regarding this program can always be submitted to us at <a href=\"mailto:auxtrans@usc.edu\">auxtrans@usc.edu<\/a>, or to Lyft directly by <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/support.lyftbusiness.com\/hc\/en-us\/requests\/new?ticket_form_id=360000116928__;!!LIr3w8kk_Xxm!_VSKy_sl-v-UH8dXJ3z6bLHg10At957MTA0kcwuaWXddNrCrUXkdqmMeqbRIIX4$\">submitting a ticket to Lyft Business support.<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>General Program Reminders:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Lyft Rides Program will operate on the following schedule<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>At UPC: 7:00pm \u2013 2:00am, seven days a week (<em>*On home football game days, the program begins 5 hours after scheduled kickoff.)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>At HSC: 5:00pm \u2013 2:00am, Monday-Friday only<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The program runs on limited credits* that automatically renew every month; USC does <strong><u>NOT<\/u><\/strong> pay for cancellations fees, tips, PrimeTime upcharges, rides created using the &#8220;schedule&#8221; feature of the app, or added stops. If your ride starts and ends within the appropriate campus geofence, and in all other ways qualifies for the program, it will say \u201c<strong>FREE<\/strong>\u201d in the fare quote box.<\/li>\n<li>Please do not share your invite with anyone!\u00a0 Invites are unique and once they are activated, they will not work again.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The UPC program covers rides within the area east of Normandie Ave, south of Washington Blvd, west of Main St, and north of Martin Luther King Blvd.<\/strong> \u00a0 If you enter or exit the Lyft vehicle outside of this USC geofence, the app will automatically charge you for your ride.\u00a0 <strong>Make sure you enter and exit the vehicle within the USC geofence.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Similarly, rides are covered <strong>within<\/strong> the geofence surrounding each campus.\u00a0 Rides <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">between<\/span> campuses are not covered.<\/li>\n<li>Free ride hours may change due to holidays, home football games, etc. On these days, we will update the service hours on this page and in the promo section of the Lyft app.<\/li>\n<li>If you change your phone number, <strong>don&#8217;t create a new Lyft account<\/strong>.\u00a0 Instead, tap on &#8216;Settings&#8217; and type in your new phone number, then &#8216;Save&#8217;.\u00a0 Visit Lyft support if you need assistance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You are solely responsible<\/strong> for compliance with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyft.com\/safety\/community-guidelines\">Lyft Community Guidelines<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyft.com\/terms\">Terms of Service<\/a>. Failure to comply to their guidelines and terms of service may result in deactivation from the Lyft Platform. If one or more are violated, you will be given notice of the potential or actual deactivation, and an opportunity to attempt to resolve the issue prior to Lyft permanently deactivating your account. <strong>All disputes and claims shall be communicated and resolved directly between you and Lyft.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How exactly does it work?<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Current USC students, faculty and staff have access to free rides provided by Lyft.\u00a0 The rides must be <strong>within<\/strong> either the UPC or HSC geofence and be requested within a qualifying time frame.\u00a0 <strong>Rides that begin or end outside of the geofence at any time are not be covered, regardless of the address you entered when you requested the ride.<\/strong> <em>Rides with added stops are also not covered.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>You must choose <strong>Shared<\/strong> as your ride option.\u00a0 USC does not cover rides using the scheduling system or priority pick ups.\u00a0 USC does not cover LUX rides.<\/li>\n<li>The UPC program operates from 7:00pm &#8211; 2:00am, daily.\u00a0 During these hours, you can take a free Lyft Shared ride inside the <a href=\"https:\/\/transnet.usc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/UPC-Boundaries.pdf\">USC Lyft Rides Program boundary<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The HSC program operates from 5:00pm &#8211; 2:00am, Monday through Friday only.\u00a0 The HSC program enables you to receive free rides within the <a href=\"https:\/\/transnet.usc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/HSC-Boundaries-map.pdf\">HSC boundary<\/a>, and to\/from HSC and Union Station. If you need access the the HSC program, please visit the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/transnet.usc.edu\/index.php\/lyft-invite\/\">Lyft Invite Form<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you also happen to have a Lyft Business account, make sure you take your ride in <strong>PERSONAL<\/strong> mode, indicated near the payment method on the request screen.<\/li>\n<li>If you need ADA accommodations for a non-collapsible or motorized wheelchair, please refer to this instructional page for the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/help.lyft.com\/hc\/ru\/all\/articles\/115013081668-wav-rides\">Lyft&#8217;s WAV Rides<\/a><\/strong> program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>*Maximum monthly benefit is $1,000.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>How do I confirm that my ride is free?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It will say &#8216;USC Lyft Rides&#8217; or &#8216;HSC USC Rides&#8217; in the\u00a0 &#8220;Payment&#8221; section of the Lyft app.<\/li>\n<li>The quote fare box will say <strong>FREE<\/strong> after you enter your pick-up and drop-off locations.<\/li>\n<li>You will get a $0.00 receipt after your ride is completed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>UPC Lyft Drop-off\/Pick-Up Zones:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Approved on-campus rideshare drop-off\/pick-up zones 6:00am &#8211; 8:00pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Parkside Apartments<\/li>\n<li>Uytengsu Aquatics Center<\/li>\n<li>Kennedy Field<\/li>\n<li>Lot L<\/li>\n<li>Lot V<\/li>\n<li>Lot M<\/li>\n<li>TRF Research<\/li>\n<li>EVK<\/li>\n<li>USC Hotel<\/li>\n<li>Watt Way<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Approved McCarthy\/Fig rideshare zones 8:00pm &#8211; 6:00am:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>EVK (inside McCarthy Way Entrance)<\/li>\n<li>USC Hotel<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;\">Approved University Village rideshare zones:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cardinal Gardens Apartments, near Metro stop at McClintock<\/li>\n<li>Hebrew Union College, on 32nd Street<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Additional Safety tips when using Lyft<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>VERIFY YOUR DRIVER AND CAR: Once you have requested a ride through the Lyft app, you can view the driver\u2019s photo, license plate number, and the make, model and color of the car in the app. When your ride arrives, make sure the information in the app matches the arriving vehicle.\u00a0 <strong>Never<\/strong> take a ride you did not request, or get into a car that doesn\u2019t match the details provided by the Lyft app.<\/li>\n<li>GO THE EXTRA MILE: <a href=\"https:\/\/help.lyft.com\/hc\/e\/articles\/360051084234-Sharing-your-ride-details-with-trusted-contacts\">Lyft\u2019s Share Location feature<\/a> allows you to invite friends to follow your trip in real-time. Too much effort?\u00a0\u00a0Call a friend and stay on the line while you\u2019re in the car instead.<\/li>\n<li>DO NOT FEEL SAFE? If you do not feel safe getting into your assigned vehicle, you can cancel the ride.
