It’s come to our attention recently that the USC Transportation rules regarding intercampus parking may not be generally well known/understood. We absolutely understand the need for intercampus visits as part of normal business operations, and wanted to take this opportunity to remind faculty and staff of the applicable regulations. This memo supersedes all previous memos regarding intercampus parking; in addition, all USC Transportation Rules and Regulations are now available in a single document online at https://transnet.usc.edu/pdf/rules.pdf.
UPC permit holders who wish to park at HSC
During normal business hours, only faculty and staff “Gold” UPC permit holders (e.g., PS1, PS2, PSA, PSB, PSD, McCarthy Way Structure) wishing to park at HSC weekdays between the hours of 7:00am–2:00pm may do so, and then only in Lot 70, Eastlake Lot, Clinical Sciences Lot, or the Biggy Structure. Visitors to the Soto Building during normal business hours are extended the courtesy of free parking for up to two hours only in the Soto Lot Parkmobile (metered) area while displaying any valid permit (not a daily pass) with the exception of a Valley Lot permit. Visitors staying beyond two hours may leave their vehicle in this same area, but need to start putting coins in the meter or otherwise pay for time. Please do NOT simply move your vehicle to another Parkmobile spot in an effort to gain another free two hours of parking.
All UPC permits are valid in any regular space at HSC weekdays between the hours of 2:00pm–7:00am (with the exception of the Soto Lot, which only becomes available at 5:00pm), and all day on weekends.
Daily-use passes purchased at UPC are valid in any parking lot or structure at HSC until midnight on the date issued, except the Soto Lot between 7:00am–5:00pm.
HSC Permit holders who wish to park at UPC
During normal business hours, all faculty and staff regular HSC permit holders can park at the UPC campus on weekdays between the hours of 7:00am–5:00pm, but only in PSD, McCarthy Way Structure, or the Parking Center. Students HSC permit holders may only use the Parking Center.
All HSC permits are valid in any regular space anywhere at UPC weekdays between the hours of 5:00pm–7:00am, and all day on weekends.
Daily-use passes purchased at HSC are valid in any of the on-campus parking structures at UPC (PSA, PSB, PSD, McCarthy Way Structure) until midnight on the date issued.
Please bear in mind that all “reserved” parking rules and regulations apply; intercampus parking is only intended for use in normally available parking spaces (e.g., not handicapped, carpool, or any other spaces marked as “reserved”).
