Yes you can buy up to 3-day passes from the gate. If you want more than three days (such as a week long pass) you can ONLY purchase those from the USC Transportation Services Office.
I heard that you could park on campus after 5pm, is this true?
This is true as long as you have a valid USC parking permit (includes all off campus lots and Parking Center passes). With a permit you can park anywhere on campus (except for reserved spaces and loading/ unloading spots, please obey all parking rules and regulations) after 5pm and anytime during the weekend.
Where can I park at USC during home football games?
All of the gates are open during USC home football games, so enter the gate that is most convenient for your travel. Regular permit holders can park where their permits allow, but guests must purchase parking at the gate.
Can I pay for a daily parking pass using my discretionary card?
Yes you can.
Is the LPR only for California license plates or only personal vehicles?
The LPR can read and recognize California plates as well as out of state plates. It is able to recognize any type of license plates, including golf carts, service vehicles, etc.
Will the camera be used to film or record any visual information?
LPR cameras are not video recorders. It is an image recognition system. It is designed to identify license plates and read the information and check the plate against a database in order to determine the status of the plate or permit in question.
What information will the LPR allow USC Transportation access to?
The only information the LPR system will be used to access is a vehicle’s citation history on USC property, and whether or not the vehicle is permitted to be where it is parked. The system will not be used to access any personal, classified or security sensitive information.
Who will the LPR identify?
The LPR identifies vehicles that have not paid (for daily parking, or via a permit) to park where they are currently located. It also identifies vehicles with 3 or more outstanding minor citations, so that the vehicle can be booted and those citations collected.
What is the purpose of the License Plate Recognition (LPR) system?
The purpose of the License Plate Recognition (LPR) system is to identify those vehicles which have outstanding citation fees, or have not yet paid to park wherever it is located. It also helps to ensure that those Trojans who pay for parking have a space to park when they come to campus.
What happens if I don’t pay my citation?
Transportation Services contracts with the California DMV and collections agencies to pursue collection on unpaid citations. Information gathered by other means may be used to collect. Your student fee bill or payroll could be charged. Also, your vehicle may be subject to immobilization.
